Act like a lady, and think like one too
Well guys, these photos were taken exactly one month ago.
Isn't it funny how fast time flys.
I wanted to do a little bit of pattern mixing so I went with this red and white striped button down shirt and floral print skirt.
I felt it to be cool (it was burning up outside), lady like and comfy.
Thinking of it being lady-like, I went to see Act like a lady, think like a man over the weekend. Yes, I'm late and I went to see it at the "1.50" movie theater, which is now a 1.75. Lol! I had forgotten about it actually. If I don't go see a movie on opening weekend, I will typically forget about it until I see a dvd commercial or get really bored and think...hmm..let me check out the 1.50 movie list.
All in all, I think it was a pretty good movie. I'm glad that it ended on a note where everyone got what they wanted. Kind of that happily ever after feel! But it made me think, is it really a necessity to "act like a lady, but think like a man"?
I think that really seems to be the consensus these days.
I mean...can I not act like a lady and find a man that can, well...act like a man? Or gentleman. I really do not have time for games. I'm not looking for a boy to train into a proper suitor.
I don't know, maybe I have a warped way of thinking, but, if our focus is on pleasing each other, respecting each other, taking care of one another as we would care for ourselves...living by that Golden rule of treating others how we want to be treated...there wouldn't be a need for childish, time-wasting mind games.
Trust me, if I have to play a game with you, as you try every trick in the book to "get the cookies", 90 days of you sticking around will not get you a crumb from the cookie! You likely won't even last 90 days.
Now i've not run into many dogs in my life. I've actually dated some really nice guys. But the game factor was always there, even before Steve's book. And with my patience being a little thin, and my ever so strict 3 strike rule, I've put a few good ones out of the game. Likely even a little prematurely.
At the end of the day, I just want to act like a lady and think like one too. And i'll await that guy that is gentleman enough and mature enough to truly know how to appreciate me, as the lady that I am.
I guess I could also do a little better at putting myself out there more these days. I had to pull back and take a break and reevaluate somethings...particularly my long list and strict 3 strike rule.
I'm thinking of online dating. My 75 year old mother told me that she was going to sign me up on e harmony and black people meet, I chuckled, because she is not very computer literate. She doesn't understand that "facebook" stuff..LOL. But she said she'll have one of her senior group counselors help her fix me up a profile! Gotta love her! But it really got me thinking about it.....
Have you ever used an online dating service? Is that not "fly"? LOL!
Have you ever linked up via blogging? I mean, so much is shared on a blog, you really do get to know people that way. This would definitely be new for me.

Wholeheartedly agreed. No childish games.
I like your pattern mixing. I have never done online dating, although I have thought about it. These days, it is a very common and normal way to meet people. I know several that met their husbands or boyfriends on E-Harmony. I say go for it!
